And, it’s just in time for the Holiday season too! You will have plenty of time to make this adorable snowman blanket in time for Christmas.

I think that you could even keep this blanket out as decoration after Christmas since it is more of a winter themed blanket and not specifically a Christmas themed blanket.

2 years ago, I made this Christmas Tree Blanket. It is also made with the C2C Stitch are was a super fun project!

I absolutely love the border that I done on it. It’s called the “Candy Cane Border”.

Details About This Pattern

My Free Snowman Blanket Pattern is made with the fun C2C technique. This stitch is also called the corner to corner stitch. It is made up primarily of chain stitches and double crochet stitches.

You will use a number of colors to create the snowman image in the blanket. I finished the blanket off with a fun border called the dot border.

If you have never crocheted the corner to corner stitch, then you will want to check out my full, in depth tutorial for it in THIS POST!

I’d highly recommend practicing this stitch before attempting to crochet this blanket if you have never had experience with C2C before.

Types of Instructions Included in this Pattern

For this snowman blanket, I have a made a pixel chart / graph if you like to check off the individual squares as you go. This is a great way to get a visual of how it will all come together.

I have also included the line by line written instructions for this pattern. I know that it is always a wonderful thing with corner to corner projects to have line by line written directions, so I included them as well.

Yarn Used for This Snowman Afghan Pattern

I used one of my favorite #4, worsted weight yarns to make this blanket, I Love This Yarn. It comes in a wide variety of different colors, is super soft and holds up very well over time.

If you don’t want to use I Love This Yarn, any other worsted weight yarn will work for this pattern that has similar colors.

The approx. yardage of each color needed for this snowman blanket is listed below in the pattern details.

Border –

I did the Dot Border for this blanket (which I will explain below). If you want, I have Video Tutorial for this border if you’d rather watch.

with white yarn, starting anywhere around the blanket, attach yarn and evenly single crochet around the edge placing 2 sc in each corner

sl st into 1st sc.

You will need to know how to Double Crochet 5 Stitches Together to finish this border

DC5TOG –

Yarn Over (YO), insert hook, YO, pull back through, YO, pull through two loops, *YO, insert hook into SAME space as before, YO, pull back through, YO pull through 2 loops. Repeat from * 3 more times. YO and pull through all 6 loops. Dc5tog completed.

Continuing on with the border:

*Chain 3, in the first chain of those chain 3’s dc5tog, slip stitch in the next 5 stitches* repeat * to * around

Work all the way around the blanket.

Cut yarn and weave in all ends
