About this Pattern

This festive crochet elf hat has a very simple design that uses basic stitches.  It has a ribbed brim that then turns into a fun striped section that is just made of dc rounds that have simple color changes every row.

The hat is crocheted from the brim up and uses simple decreases as your work up toward the top of the hat.

The pattern is very short and basic.  I even think that this would be a great beginners crochet project to tackle.

Along with being an easy crochet pattern, this is also a quick crochet pattern.  It seems to work up relatively fast.

    1. I didn’t figure that out, but if you have a skein of each color, you can make multiples from any size of the hats.

  1. After doing double crochet foundation, you say to slip stitch to join, but that only joins top of double crochet stitch, so not attached at bottom an didn’t show on video I watched. I had to be sure to crochet extra loose or it didn’t look right, an hard to find the right place to put hook, I didn’t think I crochet that tight either, might want to mention that foundation dc needs to be crocheted loose if your a tight crocheter.
It’s so hard to post a comment with the advertisement popping up in the way too, thought I lost comment with ad , but finally found it again to finish comment. Thanks for the pattern. 11/21/2023 10:15 a.m.

    1. Hi, you can easily take the tail of the beginning of the foundation double crochet and attach the bottom of the stitches together to close the gap when you weave the ends in. Hope this helps!
