Looking for a free crochet scarf pattern that’s perfect for beginners? This easy griddle stitch crochet scarf pattern is the perfect project! The griddle stitch creates a soft, textured look all while using simple stitches like single crochet stitches and double crochet stitches.

One of the most asked questions that I got asked when I was working on this scarf pattern was, “What yarn are you using?” Everyone seemed to love this color of yarn and wanted to know! I used I Love This Yarn in the color Royal Gorge.
Pair this beautiful yarn with the Griddle Stitch and it produces this beautiful scarf! The Griddle Stitch is made up of an easy, 1 row repeat that is so simple to crochet.

Did you know that the griddle stitch is also known as the Lemon Peel Stitch? They are the exact same stitch and both work up the same way!
