The shell border is a super easy stitch to add around the edging of any blanket or shawl. I added this border to the last baby blanket that I crocheted and it turned out perfect!
You can find all the details for this Shell Bordered Blanket Pattern IN THIS POST.
You can add this border to just about any blanket that you would like. I love adding it to baby blankets especially because it just helps give them a finished look. It’s a super easy border to crochet as it is made up of basic stitches like single crochet and double crochet stitches.
At first glance, this border may look like a stitch for a more experienced crocheter to do but I think that this is a border stitch that even crochet beginners can make because it’s such a simple border.
I’ve seen a couple different ways to crochet a shell border on a crochet blanket and this is the best way that I’ve found to do it and it looks the best in my opinion.
For those wondering what stitch I used for the section of this swatch crocheted in the purple yarn, I used a fun stitch called the ‘Wattle Stitch.’ This seems to be one of my favorite stitches here lately and it’s no wonder because it’s a super easy stitch that produces a wonderful texture!
