I love how simple the Moss stitch is! It’s made up of 2 stitches, the chain stitch and single crochet. That’s all! It’s a great stitch that gives a completely different look than just regular single crochet, but is easy enough that even beginners could easily grasp this stitch.
The yarn that I’m using in the pics below is Hobby Lobby’s ‘Yarn Bee Soft & Sleek‘. I really like this yarn for this stitch because it’s such a smooth and sleek yarn that it really highlights the stitch.
I love using this stitch for blankets and triangle scarfs. I made a traingle scarf here a little bit ago with the moss stitch. It also doubles as a shawl.
Right now, I’m working on a blanket with this stitch that I will be releasing next week. So, keep your eyes peeled for that.
I will also be doing another post on how to do the moss stitch in a continuous square. This is a great technique for blankets!
I have included both a written tutorial and a video tutorial.
