Love the look of granny squares but don’t enjoy joining them all together to make a blanket? Then why not try the granny ripple stitch! It has that same granny style but in back and forth rows instead of squares.

I also created a stitch tutorial for a stitch similar to this one called the ‘granny stripe stitch‘. It is also a fun granny style stitch to crochet in back and forth rows.

For this ripple granny stitch blanket that I started making, I chose to use some fun rainbow colors. If you have followed me for very long on my social media then you have probably seen how much I love fun and bright colors! I thought that this was the perfect stitch to use some rainbow colors for to create a fun blanket.

I am using Brava Worsted yarn from We Crochet for this particular blanket in the colors cotton candy, freesia, cornflower, alfalfa, canary, orange and red. That is also the particular order that I’m doing the blanket in and repeating.
