This stitch combines 2 of my favorite things, C2C & Moss Stitch! The Moss stitch has to probably be one of my favorite crochet stitches. It’s super easy, yet looks so pretty and elegant. You only need to know 2 stitches to make the C2C Moss Stitch, the chain stitch and single crochet.
There are 3 different ways to do the Moss Stitch. You can work it in a regular, straight piece, work it in a square, and C2C. My favorite way to work the moss stitch is probably in a square. That way you can make your project as big as you have enough yarn for without having to guess how wide to make it.
If you would like to learn how to crochet the moss stitch in just a regular, straight piece, find that tutorial HERE
If you would like to learn how to crochet the moss stitch in a square, find that tutorial HERE
But, for this tutorial, I will be showing you how to Crochet the Moss Stitch in Corner to Corner.

Stitch Key –
- ch = chain
- st = stitch (es)
- sk = skip
- sc = single crochet
- hdc = half double crochet
- dc = double crochet
- sp = space
- yo = yarn over
- t = turn
Step-by-Step
Row 1: ch 3, (sc, ch 1, sc) in 3rd ch from hook
Row 2: ch 3, t, sk sc, sc in ch 1 sp, ch 1, ( sc, ch 1, sc) in ch 3 sp from previous row
Row 3: ch 3, t, *sk sc, sc in ch 1 sp, ch 1* repeat across until you reach the ch 3 sp from previous row, (sc, ch 1, sc) in ch 3 sp
Continue repeating row 3 until piece is desired size before beginning to decrease
How to Decrease
Row 4: ch3, t, * sk sc, sc in next ch-1 sp, ch1; repeat from * to last sc. sc twice in ch-3 of previous row.
Row 5: ch2, t, skip 2 sc, sc in next ch-1 sp, * ch 1, sk sc, sc in next ch-1 sp, repeat from * to last sc. sc in ch-3 of previous row (don’t ch1 before sc)
Row 6: ch2, t, skip 2 sc, sc in next ch-1 sp. * ch 1, sk sc, sc in next ch-1 sp, repeat from * to last sc. sc in ch-2 of previous row (don’t ch1 before sc)
Continue repeating row 6 until you only have 2 sc left
Row 7: ch1, t, sc in ch-2 of previous row. Fasten off and weave in the ends.
And that is how easy it is to crochet the C2C Moss Stitch!

Hi just wanted to show you my blanket I made it with lion brand yarn, comfy cotton blend in the color driftwood. It’s for a baby boy. The mom wanted neutral colors. For the edging I did a sc all the way around then did a dc all around.
Wonder if I should do 4 tassels?
Hi, I’m sure it looks great, I’m not seeing a picture of it. For a boy, I’d probably leave the tassels off. 🙂
