Want to learn to crochet a stitch that has a LOT of texture? Then you will definitely want to learn the Bobble Stitch.
The texture has such a squishy and ‘bobbly’ feel. This would make a great stitch to use for blankets and hats!
I made a headband using this stitch. Find it HERE
It creates a very solid piece with lots of texture. The back is completely smooth with the bobble being just on the front (right) side.

Bobble Stitch –
*yarn over and insert hook, pull up a loop (as if you were going to do a double crochet), yarn over and pull through 2 loops* repeat * to * 4 more times until you have 6 loops on hook, yarn over and pull through all 6 loops on hook. Bobble stitch made
- You always work a bobble stitch on a wrong side row
Step-by-step
Start by chaining a multiple of 4 plus 1, for this test swatch I chained 21
Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. This will give you a foundation row to start crocheting your bobbles on.
Row 2: ch 1, t, sc in 2 st, * bobble in next st, sc in 2 st* repeat * to * across
To make a Bobble Stitch-
yo, insert hook into st, pull up a loop (3 loops on hook) (pic 1) yo, pull through 2 loops (2 loops on hook, pic 2)
*yo, insert hook into st and pull up a loop, yo and pull through 2 loops * repeat from * to * for a total of 5 times until you have 6 loops on hook
yo and pull through all 6 loops. Bobble complete
When you sc in the next st, that will make the bobble look fully like a bobble on the right side.
Row 3: ch 1, t, sc in each st across
Keep repeating row 2 & 3
And that is how easy it is to crochet the Bobble Stitch!
