This crochet glasses case pattern isn’t just for your reading glasses, you can also use it as a sunglass case!  It’s such a great pattern that comes in so handy.

I don’t think that anyone likes the idea of just throwing their glasses into their purse, unprotected.  Because we all know when you pull them out to use them, they will more than likely have a scratch on them.

But, crochet to the rescue!  This cute crochet glasses case can be made in so many different colors that the options are endless.  It would also be cute made in a solid color and not striped, it all comes down to personal preference as to what you like best!

I decided to use 2 colors and make mine striped. I love how it turned out!

These would make for a great gift idea for someone that wears glasses or that would love to protect their favorite sunglasses.

What Yarn Works Best for a Crochet Glasses Case?

For this specific pattern, I chose to use Lion Brand 24/7 cotton yarn.  But, the good news is that acrylic yarn would work great too!  Really, any soft, worsted weight yarn would be great for this project.

This is a great yarn stash busting project for all those little scraps of yarn that you don’t know what to do with.  It takes a very small amount of yarn and it’s such a quick crochet project.  It actually takes less than 50 grams of yarn!

For this cute project, I used a special stitch called the Lemon Peel Stitch.  It’s such a fun and easy stitch to do.  It’s made up of chain stitches, single crochet stitches and double crochet stitches. If you would like a step by step tutorial or video tutorial for this specific stitch, you can find it HERE!

When I say that this Easy Crochet Glasses Case Pattern is an easy pattern, I’m not kidding!  The entire piece is made from just a simple rectangle that is folded and uses slip stitches to join the sides.  If you know how to make the double crochet and single crochet stitch, then you can make this easy crochet sunglasses case pattern.

I have included quite a few photos in the pattern to help you out!

I also wanted to mention these buttons!  You can find this whole jar of miscellaneous buttons at Hobby Lobby for $9.99.  But, they go on sale every other week (at least they do at my Hobby Lobby.).

If my memory serves me right, I’m pretty sure that it’s 40% off!  There are so many different colors and styles of buttons that I’m sure you could find many different ones that would be the right size for this project!

This is actually a jar of buttons that my sister bought and I grab one out of every once in awhile, LOL.  She sews and does different things like tatting and embroidery.  She actually has her own website where she shares her projects and tutorials also.  You can find her website HERE!
