If you want a classic Christmas crochet stocking pattern, then this is the one for you! It is such a fun pattern to crochet and will make your Christmas season a little more festive knowing that you made such an important part of your Christmas decor. And the best part of this pattern is that it is a FREE crochet pattern!
The Christmas Holiday season is such a festive time of year and making handmade Christmas stockings is the perfect way to put any crocheter in a festive mood!
I love the design of this stocking because it is your basic solid color stocking with the accent color on the toe, heel and cuff. It’s a fairly easy pattern to make as it uses basic stitches like the chain stitch, single crochet stitches and double crochet stitches.
If you feel intimidated to crochet a Christmas stocking, don’t worry because I have included a lot of step by step pictures for this particular pattern.
Can you use a different weight of yarn for this pattern?
While technically, yes, you can use a different yarn weight for this free pattern but it will make your stocking be a different size than mine.
I used I Love This Yarn and it is a worsted weight yarn. If you use a bulky yarn then your stocking will be much larger than mine and if you used a lightweight or dk weight yarn then it would be smaller.
