It’s finally time to release my Flower Coaster Crochet Pattern!  These coasters are a super quick and easy pattern that does not take very much yarn to make and is only 6 rounds in total.

These are the absolute best coasters for Summer!  They remind me so much of a daisy flower in shape and design.  They are the perfect project to work on in the summer time as they are small, easy to take with you and made with cotton yarn.

If you have followed me very long, then you know just how much that I love a bright color palette.  And, these flower coasters are the perfect thing to add a pop of color to any room.

I love making each one in a different color and seeing how they turn out.  So far, I’m loving the teal and purple ones!  They are such cute coasters!

I could even see them made with brown in the middle and yellow for the petals to make a sunflower coaster.  How cute would that be?!

Get creative and make some in all different and bright colors!  If you do, be sure to tag me @OkieGirlBlingnThings on social media so I can see!

What Yarn Should You Use to Make Coasters?

For these crochet flower coasters and any other type of crochet coaster pattern, you will want to use a 100% cotton yarn.  The reason being that cotton is more absorbent than any other type of yarn like say acrylic.  Water just beads right off of acrylic yarn so making a coaster out of acrylic yarn won’t be of any use.

Cotton yarn is also very easy to take care of.  If the coasters get dirty, just toss them into the washing machine to clean.

I chose to use Dishie Cotton yarn from We Crochet.  Any worsted weight cotton yarn will work great for this free pattern.

These Daisy Coasters are a great project for scrap yarn.  They would also make for great gifts and home decor.  I can just see them on a coffee table for decoration!

Check Out Some of my Other Free Crochet Patterns!

They are an easy crochet pattern that would be great for even a crochet beginner.  It uses a lot of the basic crochet stitches such as the single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet and treble crochet.

I even have a video tutorial for this quick project if you are more of a visual learner.  If you like patterns with video tutorials, be sure to check out and to subscribe to my YouTube Channel!  I post crochet pattern tutorials, crochet and knit stitch tutorials and other yarn related videos!

  1. I love the watermelon.
I have four granddaughters ages 8-11 that want to learn crochet.

Can you give me an easy small project idea for them to try out that won’t frustrate beginners?
