Things you will need:

• I Love This Yarn in Red, White and Jellybean
• 5.00 mm / H Hook
• 2.5” Boye Pom Pom Maker
• Yarn Needle

Abbreviation:

• Ch = chain
• Sc = single crochet
• Dc = double crochet
• Fdc = foundation double crochet
• Fpdc = front post double Crochet
• Bpdc = back post double crochet
• Hdc = half double crochet
• Dec = decrease, double crochet 2 stitches together
• St = stitch (es)
• Sl st = slip stitch

Gauge:

• 14 st x 6 r = 4” in dc

Notes:

• Pattern starts with foundation double crochet but you could chain the amount of stitches stated and add 2 more stitches and double crochet in the 3rd st from the hook and in each st around.
• Make sure to use the correct hook to obtain the correct gauge to ensure a proper fit.

Sizing chart:

• Newborn –11’’ circumference

Round 2-3: ch 2, dc in same st, fpdc, * dc, fpdc* repeat * to * around, sl st to join (32)

Change to white

Round 5: repeat round 4

Change to white

Round 6: repeat round 4

Round 7: ch 2, dc in same st, dc in 5 st, dec, * dc in 6 st, dec* repeat * to * around, sl st to join (28)

Round 8: ch 2, dc in same st and in each st around, sl st to join (28)

Cut yarn and weave in ends

Make Pom Pom with the jellybean yarn. Attach to end of hat.
