I probably say this every time that I design a new garment piece, but I think this is my favorite yet!!!! My ‘Lake Breeze Tee’ top pattern reminds of one of my favorite things, Summer! The perfect aqua color, shell design & lightweight yarn.

It’s such a nice, breathable top for summer. The length is great to go with a pair of leggings because it will cover the rear area. I love how lightweight and soft it is! This will be a favorite and sure to get many compliments.

About the Design

I originally wanted to design a swimsuit cover up with a shell design. But, I decided to make it into a top instead and I’m glad that I did! It’s so lightweight and breezy which makes it the perfect summertime top.

I wanted to design a piece that was easy enough, but looked more advanced, that a beginner crocheter could even make it. The way that I designed the Lake Breeze Tee is to work it up in the round and then split off for the sleeve section.

Then, just work the front part for the sleeves, and then the back. All that’s left is to sew the top edges of the sleeves together leaving a section open for the neck

About the Yarn

This has to be one of the softest yarns that I have ever crocheted with! It’s Lion Brand’s Truboo Yarn. I used the color Aqua. There are so many color options in the type of yarn, I especially like the color tangerine.

Truboo is a #3 yarn that is 100% bamboo. It’s super soft and has an amazing drape to it. It’s a super breathable and breezy material, so you will stay cool all summer long.

Notes:

  1. If you are in between sizes, I would recommend going up to the next size up.
  2. Designed with 2’’ positive ease.
  3. Worked from the bottom up.
  4. The body is worked in the round until you reach the arm section.  It will then be divided into a front and back section.
  5. Keep in mind that the weight of the yarn will pull and will stretch. So, once your top is finished, it may be a little longer than it appeared when you were working on it.  Just be careful if adding rows to lengthen 😉
  6. Sizing is as follows XS( S, M, L, XL, 2X, 3X)
  7. It may be easier to highlight the size you are working on to help keep track
  8. Model is wearing a size M, with a 38’’ bust.
  9. Final stitch count is given at the end of each round
  10. I will include other notes throughout the pattern when needed.
