My very first face mask crochet pattern that I published has proven to be very popular. You can find it HERE
***This mask alone is not by any means a medical grade mask***
While this mask is not intended to be wore alone, I think that you could very easily add a lining to the inside or even make 2 and stitch them together to make a thicker more durable mask.
Plus, I even made this one is a child size and an adult size. But, you can easily adjust this pattern to make it either smaller or larger.
I chose cotton yarn because it would have the least tendency to stretch out quickly and it can be easily washed and dried out
And, After I published the last face mask cover pattern, some people were saying what a great idea these would be for the wintertime just to keep your face warm! That’s a really good idea and why not make them kid friendly and do animal themed ones!

Go!
Child (adult)
Row 1: ch 24 (28), hdc in 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across 22 (26)
Row 2: ch 2, t, hdc in 3rd loop of each st across 22 (26)
The 3rd loop is the loop on the back below the regular stitch.
You could easily just do regular hdc, but I like how doing it in the 3rd loop gives it that little detail on the front.
Row 3: ch 2, t, hdc in each st across 22 (26)
Child only –
Rows 4 – 9: repeat rows 2 & 3
Adult only –
Rows 4 – 11: repeat rows 2 & 3
Do not cut yarn.
Ch 1, do not turn and evenly sc down side. Place 2 sc in the bottom corner, sc across bottom, 2 sc in other corner, sc up the other side.
When you have reached the top of the side, ch 18 (20), sl st into the bottom corner (you could easily add/decrease number of st depending on your face size, but 20 worked for me as an adult)
Cut yarn.
Attach yarn on the top corner of the other side, ch 18 (20), sl st into bottom corner.
Cute yarn and weave in all ends.
Ear – Make 2
With white,
Row 1: ch 6, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each st across (5)
Row 2: ch 1, t, sc2tog, sc, sc2tog (3)
Change to black
Row 3: ch 1, t, sc2tog, sc (2)
Row 4: ch 1, t sc2tog (1)
Cut yarn, weave in ends.
Nose – with black
Row 1: ch 6, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each st across (5)
Row 2: ch 1, t, sc2tog, sc, sc2tog (3)
Row 3: ch 1, t, sc2tog, sc (2)
Row 4: ch 1, t sc2tog (1)
Cut yarn, weave in ends.
Using the above pic as a guide, hot glue or sew the ears and nose on to the mask. I hot glue because it’s a lot faster and easier

Wow, this is great. I am going to print this out and start soon. I don’t have any cotton yard, but I will use the synthetic and use a cotton backing. Thanks for this great pattern!
These are some real gems there, Kylee. I did some research found these one crochet face mask pattern and have been working on them. but I guess I’ll add yours to my “To-Do” list as well. <3 thanks for sharing.
It is very easy patern. I made it in mercerized cotton, and it looks grate. I added 5 more rows for adult mask.
