With the release of my other farm ornaments, I had many requests for a cow.   So, of course, I had to design one 😉 and here it is.

I’ve had many people waiting for the release of this pattern and I’m so excited to show y’all!  I had one lady tell me that her Christmas tree this year was going to be decorated with only crochet ornaments and I love that idea!

Pattern

Things you will need:

• I Love This Yarn in White, Pink, Black, and Toasted Almond
• 12mm Google Eyes
• Hot Glue Gun
• 4.00 mm Hook
• Yarn Needle
• Stitch Marker

Abbreviation:

• ch = chain
• mc = magic circle   (Learn how to make a magic circle here)
• sc = single crochet
• sc2tog = single crochet 2 stitches together
• t = turn
• Sl st = slip stitch

Gauge:

•  14 st x 16 r = 4” in sc

GO!

Body (with white):

Rnd 1: 6 sc in mc (6)

Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around (12)

Rnd 3: *sc in 1^st st, 2 sc in the next* repeat * to * around (18)

Rnd 4: *sc in 2 st, 2 sc in next st* repeat * to * around (24)

Rnd 5: *sc in 3 st, 2 sc in next st* repeat * to * around (30)

Rnd 6: *sc in 4 st, 2 sc in next st* repeat * to * around (36)

Rnd 7: *sc in 5 st, 2 sc in next st* repeat * to* around (42)

Rnd 8: *sc in 6 st, 2 sc in next st* repeat * to * around (48)  sl st into 1^st st of round.  Cut yarn.

Ears (with black, make 2):

Row 1: ch 4, sc in 2^nd ch from hook and in each ch across (3)

Row 2: ch 1, t, sc2tog, sc in last st (2)

Row 3: ch 1, t, sc2tog, ch 1 and evenly sc around ear placing 2 sc in the bottom 2 corners.

Cut yarn.

Mouth (with pink):

Rnd 1: ch 4, sc in 2^nd ch from hook, sc in next ch, 3 sc in last ch st, turn as to work down other side of ch st, sc in 2 st, 2 sc in last st. (9)

Rnd 2:   2 sc in 1s st, *sc in next st, 2 sc in next* repeat * to * 2 times.  Sc in 2 st, 2 sc in next, sc in last st (13)

Rnd 3: 2 sc in 1^st st, sc in 3 st, 2 sc in next st, sc, 2 sc in next 2 st, sc in 3 st, 2 sc in next st, sc, sl st into 1^st st of round. (18)

Cut yarn.

Horns (with toasted almond, make 2):

Ch 4, sc in 2^nd ch from hook, sc in next st, 3 sc in last st, turn as to work down the other side of chain st, sc in next 3 st.

Cut yarn, leaving a long tail for attaching to cow.

Hanger:

Ch 30.  Cut yarn.  Make sure and leave a long tail to attach to cow

Using the picture as a guide, attach the horns.

Then, attach the ears

Attach the hanger and hot glue on the eyes and mouth.
