I’m on a roll y’all!!! I have been in a mood for making newborn photo props here lately and this is my 3rd prop that I have made recently. My 1st prop that I made was this Mermaid tail outfit

I used a pattern by Red Lollipop Boutique that you find here

The 2nd prop that I made was a newborn bumble bee hat and little tushie cover

You can find the free pattern for this one here

So, as you can see, I have been on a kick for making these little adorable outfits. This turtle prop is the 1st one that I have made from my own pattern.

I’m hoping to come up with some new ideas and design some patterns for some more here shortly 😉

Pentagons – make 6

With Antique Teal

Rnd 1: make mc, ch 3 (counts as a dc here and throughout), dc in mc, * ch 2, work 2 dc into mc* repeat * to * 3 more times, ch 2, sl st into top of ch 3.

Switch to Keylime

Rnd 2: ch 3, dc in 1st st, * (dc, ch 2, dc) in ch 2 sp, dc in next 2 st until you reach the next ch 2 sp* repeat * to * 3 more times (dc, ch 2, dc) in last ch 2 sp, sl st into top of ch 3

Cut yarn and weave in ends

Stitching the shell together:

Start with 2 pentagons. Face the wrong sides together with the right side facing you. Attach yarn, using antique teal, and single crochet in the back loops only (the one loop on each pentagon that is right next to each other)

You will have to cut your yarn and start new a few times to secure all the sides.

When you get all the sides stitched together, you may have some spots that look like this, where they don’t look connected

All you have to do is take the tail and pull it through the middle of the line of stitches and pull it out the other side and weave it in.

Then you can’t even tell that it’s a different line of yarn.

Weave in all ends and attach the yarn anywhere on the outer edge of the shell and evenly sc around ending in a sl st once you reach where you started. Cut yarn and weave in all ends.
