Content is the backbone to every blog. After all, if you don’t have good content, why are people going to come to your site? In this post, I’m going to share my #1, top tip for creating content that people are searching for.
If you haven’t already created your blog but want to know more about that, then check out THIS POST!
You have to create content that people are searching for, helpful to them and gives the reader a reason to come to your blog. Since this is the whole point in having a blog.
Honestly, I wish I had knew about this years ago….it took me a few years to figure everything out.
I’m going to share this secret with you so that you will have a bit of a head start from where I started!
Why is Content for your Blog Important?
Content is important to you blog because it’s the only thing that is going to give you traffic to your blog. No content = no money.
Content that people are searching for or can find helpful information from is the KEY to any bloggers success.
While blogging about your daily life and hobbies might have worked back in 2010, let’s be honest, that’s not going to drive traffic now. You have to have the right tools in order to create content that will in the end make you money.
If you are wondering just how much you can earn from a blog, then be sure to take a look at my INCOME REPORTS!
You may be wondering, ”what do I mean when I say content?” I’m simply talking about creating blog posts. Your blog posts = your content.
How to Drive Traffic to Your Blog?
There are different ways to drive traffic to your blog. After all, once you start publishing posts, you want to see people coming to your blog and reading them.
I’ll probably be going over this in more detail in another post, but I’ll mention some of the ways that I receive traffic for my blog
- Google Search (this is where SEO is very important)
- Social Media
- Direct Traffic (like my email list)
Of course, it can come from different websites that link back to my blog and other places like that, but these are the main places where the majority of my traffic comes from everyday.
How to Create Traffic Driving Content for Your Blog
So, how exactly do you create content that drives traffic to your blog? This is a million dollar question and one thing that I struggled with in the beginning. And I see so many other bloggers ask this question.
I would spend my time looking through different places trying to come up with ideas on what to write about next. Not knowing exactly what I should talk about.
Because let’s face it, just because it’s a topic that we want to write about and love, doesn’t mean that it will drive traffic to our blog. And if it doesn’t drive traffic, is it any good? Because in the end more traffic = more money. Which also means no traffic = no money.
Now, I’m not saying that you still can’t blog about things you love, you can! You can write about some of the things that you want to and sprinkle in the others.
In fact, you need to write about something that you love! Like I do about crochet. I absolutely love crochet and if I didn’t, I wouldn’t nearly love my job as much as I do. Just be sure that you choose a niche, whatever it may be, that you truly love and are passionate about.
What is SEO?
I’m going to share something with you that can help you to write SEO optimized blog posts but before I do, let me explain what SEO is.
You may be thinking, ‘‘What on earth is SEO?”
If you are confused, don’t worry, so was I in the beginning. SEO simply stands for Search Engine Optimization.
So, that simply means if your blog post doesn’t have the proper keywords throughout the post for that specific search term that you are writing about, it won’t rank very well on Google search. If it’s on the 105th page of Google search results, how will people find it and go to your blog?
Yes, there are other ways to drive traffic to your site other than Google, but I think that you will really hurt yourself in your ad earnings if you neglect it.
Thankfully, there are tools made specifically for helping you create SEO blog posts that rank on the 1st page of Google.
The key that has helped me to start writing SEO optimized content is Rank IQ.
What is Rank IQ?
Rank IQ is an Ai powered tool that is made specifically for bloggers to help them to write perfectly SEO optimized content (in a shorter amount of time.)
You could always spend hours and hours doing research for specific keywords, but
- you first have to understand what you are looking for (because this baffles me too)
- and it just isn’t necessary when you could be using Rank IQ
I cannot mention how much I love Rank IQ. I wish that I had came across it early on in my blogging journey, but I’m glad that I did find it.
You may be wondering, “can Rank IQ help me even though my niche is different than yours?” Rank IQ has library full of low competition high traffic search terms that cover basically every blogging niche.
Whether you are into food, fashion, lifestyle, finance, outdoors, arts & crafts, DIY, or crochet, it doesn’t matter! There is a specific section for your niche on Rank IQ.
How Does Rank IQ Work?
When you sign up for Rank IQ, you will definitely want to watch the introduction video! In the video the creator of Rank IQ, Brandon Gaille, goes over the different sections and how to properly use Rank IQ.
Rank IQ essentially gives you all the keywords and phrases that you need to use in your blog post to write a perfectly SEO optimized post that can rank on the first page of Google.
Just to give you a little insight on how well Rank IQ has helped me, I started using it in January of 2023. As of writing this blog post in August of 2023 and writing mostly Rank IQ articles all year, my search engine traffic has tripled this month for what is was in August of 2022.
I’m consistently seeing my search engine traffic go up!
Now, you do have to understand that this isn’t an instant traffic boost. You won’t post an article and tomorrow it will rank #1 on Google. It will take a little time for it to climb the ladder, especially if you are a new blog.
I always like to say that I work for about 6 months in advance. I may not see the results of what I do today anytime this week, but in 6 months, I’ll see it starting to pay off. And, I mean that literally!
I also want to highly recommend listing to Brandon’s podcast called The Blogging Millionaire. It is jam packed with so much helpful information!
